Baby Proofing ESSENTIALS
Hey there!
As I’m sure you guessed, this blog post is about all my favorite baby proofing essentials. You will find baby proofing ideas that are not only SAFE but also as aesthetic as possible. Because our babies are only little for such a short time I really aimed to get baby proofing products that wouldn’t be damaging to my furniture or any part of my house after removing them.
Below I have separated baby proofing products by room to help you create a check list for all the baby proofing essentials you might need. You never realize how dangerous every day things in your home are until you have a baby on the move!
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope this blog posts allows you to safely baby proof your house with ease!
Love your virtual bestie,

Baby Gates for Baby Proofing:
I am all about having an aesthetic home, and searched high and low for a baby gate that would be safe and look nice in my home.
The Regalo Easy Step Arched Gate checked all my boxes. I love that it is very sturdy, easy to install, simple for adults to open but too tough for toddlers and its looks very nice.
I love this brand so much that I even purchased the Regalo 192-Inch Super Wide Gate to block off my fireplace. This gate is pictured twice because it can also be used as a Playard Baby Gate.
Kitchen Baby Proofing Essentials:
My son is very interested in opening every cabinet and drawer we have in the kitchen and I wanted something that would prevent him from opening everything but also not be a huge pain for me.
I ordered the Vmsidi Adhesive Magnetic Cabinet Locks and I couldn’t be happier! They were very easy to install, and work well. My only gripe would be if you are forgetful like myself keeping track of the magnetic key used to open them can be a challenge at first.
If you are looking for an option that doesn’t require a key, I would highly recommend the Benny Bradley’s Upgraded Invisible Cabinet Latch Locks. These are easy to install, work just as well and require no key.
If you have a gas stove, I recommend these Grenfu Stove Knob Covers.
You just want to make sure you are measuring the knobs to ensure you are purchasing the correct size. I really like these because they were simply to install and use, look nice and are very durable.
Living Room Baby Proofing Essentials:
Once my son was walking, I was terrified he was going to poke his eye out on all the corners in my living room and I needed something to soften them that I could easily remove later.
These Corner protectors are amazing! They come with a strong adhesive and are hardly noticeable.
They are made with food grade silicone which I liked because my son tends to chew on EVERYTHING.
One of my end tables has a very sharp edge all the way around and I wanted something that was going to provide more protection than just the corners.
This soft bumper furniture strip is exactly what I needed. The strip is easy to apply and goes along the entire edge of the table (corners included). I really like this because it’s hardly noticeable and hasn’t yellowed over time.
Bathroom Baby Proofing Essentials:
After having the terrifying experience of my son slipping under the water in the bath, I immediately went on the hunt for an in the bathmat to prevent this from happening again. Thankfully I was right there and nothing bad happened, but it was scary.
I really like this Gorilla Grip Patented Bath Tub Shower Mat because it has great suction and can be cleaned very easily.
In addition to the bathmat I get peace of mind having the Skip Hop Baby Bath Spout cover on my water spout preventing any accidental injuries.
For the same reason above I also have the Bath Tub Overflow Drain Cover over my trip level. This is super easy to install and doesn’t hinder your abilities to use the lever underneath.
All other Baby Proofing Essentials:
These Mom’s Choice Outlet Covers are nice because they are easy to take out when you need to use the outlet unlike some other brands that I have purchased in the past. They have a slide down table that allows you to remove then with ease. Once you are done with the outlet and put the cover back you can snap the lever back into place making it difficult for toddlers to remove.
Because we have a few types of door handles in our house I have a few different style covers.
For majority of my doorknobs we use these Child Proof Door Knob Covers. I like these because they have grips on the sides making it too challenging for toddlers but still user friendly for adults.
For our screen door we have a level door handle and use these Improved Childproof Door Lever Locks. These locks are really easy for adults to use, and you can easily press both buttons with one hand.
